Dear all, Please help, really need your advice. This morning when tried to start my car, the engine did crank when the ignition key was turned on, but the engine just would not start. Really upset bcos the engine had never given me problem within 4 years of my ownership. However, this same problem happened about 1 month before, but after about 1 hour the engine could be started. But this time could not start at all. Could it be the crankshaft or camshaft sensor or the fuel pump or anything else? Anybody had similar problem before? Your help is highly appreciated. Thank you

His starter cranked, so it couldn't be the battery, although a weaker battery may cause a slightly more difficult firing up.

Time for a full diagnostics... can be any of the long list of things... fuel pump, cam sensor, crank sensor, ignition stuff, ECU,....

oooops.. my bad.. misread.....

loooooong list...... hehehehehehe... but ask mechanic to check fuel pump and relay first...

Hmmm.... must be season for fuel pumps going konked... if diagnosed with one, that makes it 4 this 2 months round.. heheheheh.

Thank guys for the replies.

The problem solved. The culprit was at the fuel pump....the wire socket housing got soaked with leaking fuel from the fuel hose connection. Action taken....tightened the hose clamp & cleaned the socket.
Now have to start saving to change all wear & tear parts...old car already.

thank you.
