1. upper arm
2. lower arm
3. sway bar links
4. steering coupling

If the car also vibrate under braking, u may want to check the brakes too. Also, are you on OE rims or after market rims. If aftermarket rims, you may need hubcentric rings/cones.

deja vu! check out the other postings in this forum. I had the same problem and solved it through everyones input. Mine was a combination problem which included hub centric cones, control arms, bad tires and wheel balancing (off wheel). 100% cured!

Wat is hub centric cones ?

as for tyres, the both front tyres are brand new Good Year ..........

Just done wheel balancing without on-wheel......maybe i should do that....

In my case, after changing tires, hub centric cones (which was not really needed) and brake discs the vibration was still there and the symptoms are consistent with what you have described. If I were you, I would go and change the upper arm bush.

i changed my upper arms + new bush ,lower arms for my e34 recently.. very expensive.. around rm1200 all in (parts oni)...

If your rims are stock and it did not vibrate before, only after you changed the tires, this means the balancing is not done or not effective. Have it properly balanced and make sure the lead is stuck to the rims properly. Some fall-off lead weights can cause this shimmy at 90 kph as well.

The hubcentric rings is to centre the 72.5mm hub to the 74mm wheel if thats a E39 wheel or after-market ones made for E39. E34 has 72.5mm hub-size, same as E60 the new 5-series. On these wheels once you put a single lugnut into the wheel when it mounts to the hub, there is no (ZERO) movement on the side. ie no play. Without the hubcentrics, there is 1.5mm of play and this will cause vibration. Of course it is possible to fit it properly, but difficult as hitting a small pot-hole will offset the play by 1mm and vibration willl start. USing stock rims will NOT have have this problem. As it is 72.5mm perfect fit!.

Get your wheels balanced properly. Both of them!.

Now i remembered, before the wheel balancing, no such problem, only after that got this problem

But vibrates (not always) when braking already there even before wheel balancing.

Any good tyre shop that do great wheel balancing ?

Dunno what kind of rim is this ....16"

Looks like aftermarket rims. When you hoist up the car, shake the tyre for free play.

Albundy went to this shop in Jln Loke Yew which he is very satisfied with. There is also this shop in Puchong near Zoggee's place. Old man who is very meticulous. It took him 2 hours to install & balance 4 rims for E30. This is what he did :

1. mount the tyre onto the rim, inflate with air
2. put on balancing machine
3. mark a point on the tyre
4. Deflate the tyre, rotate the tyre until the mark is opposite the heaviest point of the rim
5. Reflate the tyre then put back on balancing machine

He also put the balancing weights on the inside (at the customer's request) instead of the outer lip.

When doing alignment, he also goes through each step very carefully.

But he doesn't have on-wheel balancing machine, though his other shop in Subang SS14 may have that.

Where is this shop in Puchong and Jalan Loke Yew ?

But prefer to go Puchong since he is so details........... :D don't mind waiting though

Thanks for all sifu advise.

I had my on-wheel done and now no more steering vibrates when i reach 90km.

But when high speed braking while car is slowing down till 60-70km, then the car vibrates. What other problem could it be ?

Yikes, fixed one problem and get a new one!. Now you seem to have brake rotor/pads issue and possibly the lower control arms and maybe even steering links issue.

You might want to get rotor and new pads first becuase these are things that do the stopping of the car and you need good condition ones. The arms and ball-joints you can do as a next step. Who knows, it might last for another year or two. It did 3 years for mine before the ball-joints really needed replacing.
Good luck.

I noticed during my braking, when the speed drop between 90-80 km, then then car will start shaking /vibrating .............., slowing down further over the range of 90-80km, then is perfectly ok !!!

Checked with my mechanic , which the previous owner also service his car there, all bushes have been changed recently.
