M52 for E34

Has this been done? I'm thinking of doing a conversion sometime next year for my car, currently running on the M50b20, reliable but underpowered...and as I intend to keep it BMW power, the JZ brand is out of the question...and heard the V8s are almost impossible to put into the E34. From my sources, the E39's engine is most switch-friendly with E34...what do you guys reckon? Most helpful if anyone knows a garage/mechanic who has done this before...my biggest worry is workmanship. I don't mind waiting to get a good 'donor', as long as end result is sweet.

V12 also can. Someone here did a V12 conversion on a E34 also if i am not mistaken.

in the end, choose an engine that suits your budget because that's the only limitation..

Thanks for your feedbacks! I dont know, heard the V8 is a complicated bit with wirings where we need to get add on parts to support the engine. But yeah, in terms of budget I just want more grunt...and M52 is my preferred engine, problem is I'm wondering if anyone knows a good workshop which does this stuff regularly...preferably done the M52 conversion for E34. As far as I understand, the M52 doesn't need a gearbox upgrade? We can stick with the conventional 4 speed auto?
