any one know how or where to source for good price parts to repair?the E D display and the total mileage display all kong and got plenty of dead pixels

There r people who can repair this, my fren E39 has the same problem, was told it cost around RM500 to repair, how much the meter panel cost from potong kereta? would it b cheaper to replace? or DIY yourself as i believe the soldering joint/ flexible joint is the culprit.

The rm500 is not for repair. It is to buy a replacement instrument cluster...that's about how much it costs used.

If the display can be repaired, it should not cost more than rm50 for the lcd piece and rm20-rm30 for the labour to unsolder the old lcd component and resolder the new one in.

The only thing i could be wrong about is the cost of a replacement ,cd piece (it looks like a white box, about the size of a matchbox). The cost of labour should be around there for sure.

Speedo meter E34 520i...pixels dead

Mine is the same like yours, I replaced the whole dash board and now I got this spare whole assembly, want to sell if anyone interested. With the E & D and the mileage digital pixels are dead.
