Helo guys..My toy e30m42 have to take 3 to 5 time to start the engine after a ride and have a teh tarik and it start with a low rpm and increase slowly. But it take only a single start in the morning or after park for a long time and it start normal.Anyone have an idea whats wrong with it?

I had the same problem with my m40.
Culprit - Fuel Pump.
Check the fuel pressure when the engine is warm.
Good Luck.

I have the same problem.

How much is it to replace the control valve?

And how do you check the fuel pressure?

I'v dismental the idle valve and its very dirty with black dust inside it. I clean the valve using petrol n brush.

And.... its works.... ermm.. this coming weekend i'm going to dismental, cleaning all the tube and replace the one looks crack or hard.

Thanks again kevster, Fuhrer...

And Logan, i will check the fuel pressure too.. but how.?

You need a special gauge to check fuel pressure and normally most of the BMW w/shop will have one .(not wise to buy one/expensive)
This gauge is installed and checked just before the fuel enter to the
injector's railling.
Better go to a w/shop and ask them to check for you.
I did mine in P.J. old town (Selvam).

When the engine is warm, the fuel pump cannot maintain the required pressure along the fuel line and because of this you need to crank few times.
This don't happen when the engine is cold.

E30's New fuel pump is around RM700 - RM750.00.
C/shop, i got mine for RM120.00. (after extensive hunting)

I have spent a lot time and money changing other parts before identify this problem.
Personal advice: check this fuel pump pressure.
(FYI) My M40 fuel pump is inside the fuel tank and no external damper.
Hope this would be helpful and good luck.
