Hi there, This is what happens when you buy without doing your research. :damnmate:I purchased a M20B25 halfcut with an automatic transmission and was planning to do a swap in my current E30 which has a M40 and auto transmission. I also purchase another E30 with a M40 and a manual transmission hoping to scavenge and swap the manual transmission from that car into my current car. It was a well priced running condition car and only after buying I did some research and found that they don't fit.Was wondering anyone knows where I can get a Getrag 260/5 and would also like to ask a few details that I hope to clarify with the sifus here.- Would I require any additional parts from the M20B25 manual transmission such as longshaft or rear differential or etc?- What other alternatives do I have? I also read there are multiple Getrag 260 transmission and getting a wrong one have a bad ratio, tilted mounting or even modifications / unable to PNP bolt onI am relatively new to modifying BMWs and especially which to mix and match and hope to get some light on this and maybe who can I go to get this done.:)ThanksSila tunjuk ajar kalau kurang ajar...haha

Hi bro. U have dun have much of a choice.
U must purchase a complete set or buy part by part.
I only know a few having complete sets, Bluegreen and auto technica.

Best of luck.

The Longshaft is very tough part to get, plus the gearbox. U will need a normal 260 getrag fit for a m20 bell housing.
The other types will be from the e21 ones which has a metal plate gearshift type.
Rear diff would be a 3.45 or 3.73. A 3.91 is ok too but too much low end n no top end.

Cheers..

Oh I forgot, need to find the gear selector rod and holder. The m40 length is longer.

Regards

Hey, thanks for your input. I will try calling Mike from Bluegreen tomorrow. Just want to check also I have a complete auto transmission from a 325 including longshaft and rear diff. The auto shaft and rear diff will not bolt on to the manual getrag 260.

Will get Mike's input also and post my findings.
