m40 e30 steering coupling

hi everyone, do any of u guys know where to get this joint coupling for the steering? i think its rubber aint it? i was told that it is sold as a set complete with the joint. thanks

rubbber can buy, only the nylon sleeve sun have anymore, need to do at the machine shop...

ooo, so meaning its better to change the whole assembly to a new or just change the rubber? i was quoted 340 for the part alone. pricey?

yes, very pricey... the new complete one is about 800+ now since i last ask...

rubber donut buy new, but the rivets need to come off, then modify with nuts and bolts...

in order to change the rubber, i have to drill the rivets and replace em with new bolts? i was told that this could not be done by the shop. my regular mech is no longer around so i had to go to a new shop. its a good thing i checked into the forum first hand.
