Hi all,

I've been hunting around for somewhere to send my 4yo second-hand F10 for it's first service (first under my care). I approached some of the authorized service centers such as AB, Wearnes, Quill & Ingress hoping to find where the previous owner serviced the car, but most recent record was March 2015, over a year ago. After due consideration, I decided against spending the extra Ringgit at any of the authorized service centers.

It's been well over 10 years since I last visited M1 Motors in Kayu Ara with my dad's 1987 E28 so I'm not sure how they are performing these days and found it hard to dig up reviews on this forum due to the short name "M1" (too few characters to use search function). Glad to see some familiar faces there still. Since today is the first day after Raya, they were open, but not many cars to work on since many of the owners are using their UDMs. The foreman, Casey/KC, took his time to go through my car with me as they performed an oil change. He's a very seasoned BMW specialist and shared many insights about my F10 as well as many of the other vehicles in the compound. He gave me many useful tips about maintenance and car care as well. Pleasant conversationalist.

Also, although my iDrive shows another 12000 km before my next oil change, KC suggested the oil change because I have already covered almost 10k since I took ownership of the car. I'm glad we did. The oil coming out from the engine was thick and very black. And the oil filter had a crack down the middle too. I guess the used car dealer, or previous owner, wasn't very honest about the car's last service. When I took delivery of the car, the count down was at 22k. Which is the default when they reset it again after service today. KC thinks they might have done a reset in iDrive without actually performing an oil change.

Total cost of 5 litres of Helix 5w40 + oil filter + inspection & labor... under RM600.
Total time spent - about 2 hours (no customers due to long Raya break)

Will definitely visit them again for the next oil change in 10000km.
