Is it safe to buy a tire made in 2007? If I only need it to last a year and half?

Actually what we see that is manufactured date, for example: in Europe, ppl use their car for 2-5years so do it mean car life span also 5-6 years?is very depend how the consumer to take care/maintenance.
Even if u buying new tyre, after a year later u find ur tyre are crack/rubber compound are hard.Do u think any of manufacturer will change for u?
So basically for Used tyre , condition are play most important part...Brands,Model,Year of Make just a belief.

Warranty for tyres purchased in Asia varies from 40K km to 50K km usage, best bet for shelf life is about 3 years. Tyre compound tends to get affected easily by our weather, it is always safer to go for newer tyres.

Tyre shop should not sell brand new tyres that are more than 2 years old.. not that u can't use them after 2 years, but u need to use the tyres for the next 50k km or more, or next 2 to 3 years..

We are talking about new tyres right?! If used tyres, then u must be very careful because many tyre damages u can't see with your eyes especially those minor cuts that didn't penetrate the wall, but bad enough to allow water to seep into the steel belt and rust the belt. The belt will putus easily and the result, "PREGNANCY!..

USED RUBBER CAN CAUSE PREGNANCY.. :p

I fully agree with you, bro.
Only unscrupulous tyre shop owner will sell new tyre of more than 2 years old to consumer, perhaps, ................. with a little bit of carrot & stick.
Likewise, performance car owner should NOT buy any used tyre as you have rightly pointed that "many tyre damages u can't see with your eyes especially those minor cuts that didn't penetrate the wall, but bad enough to allow water to seep into the steel belt and rust the belt. The belt will putus easily and the result, "PREGNANCY!""
