Knocking sounds on M50B25

recently, i can hear the knocking sound when the car is pulling hard up hill. mostly when there is some divider besides. i can hear the sound clearly. i was told by heritage that my knock sensor has not installed well. will cause the timing not accurate. sifus here, is it the knock sensor problem ? i am using shell. but i always mix with other brands. please help me ! thank you...

i had the same prob.. the knockiin sound was dman irritating..pek pek pek..

i tried caltex techron on friday, till now i have not hear a single knock.. crossing my finger now... heopfully it works man..

had bad with shell & esso.. sigh.. me wanna give v power a try as recommended by lee..!

u go try caltex n see..

Just my 2 cents, from my internal combustion class i took 20 years ago (shit, i'm getting old) knocking sound is a sign of ignition advance, this may be contibuted by insufficient amount of octane in the fuel.

ya the level of octane is low

i tried on techron....i dun feel any "magic"

but my friend said it is good on his VIOS ..smooth n quiter engine

will stick back to petronas

hi daan & all, thx for the comments , so the conclusion is the petrol har... i tok shell is the best fuel since they claim to have more milleage and advertise on TV.... i never use petronas. must try it after this tank. hope it would help.

check and see if the tps is working well or your maf is okay..
