Hi everyone ....can i have a rough idea what could be the problem as there is no transmission related error because only when accelerating from a standstill there is a clunky noise from the rear. Any idea what could be the possibility drive shaft, absorber any other shaft etc. Once the car is above 30kmh onwards the sound cant be heard and is relatively smooth.

aduss....this will be difficult to diagnose over the net.you gotta get down on yr knees n check the offending component or have a competent mechanic do a once over.
I would hazard a guess that your center support bearing assy fr the propshaft suda koyak.
Good luck...

I suspect that too. Just bought an e60 but i was aware of the possibility of a faulty drive shaft but the mech who check the car before i purchase said its an absorber problem though i had my doubts just that couldnt let go the idea of a V8. So once the car is delivered i guess must change the drive shaft any good and reasonably price mech u can recommend.I heard of Autobahn Sunway but do you have any other recommendation ?Thank you .

I would love to however the car does draw a lot of unwanted attn....dont say i lansi ar but everytime i take it out sure some fellow in a civic or sth would wanna race me lol maybe cz the previous owner did the m5 bodykit with custom exhaust i guess =)

Ravin,

Try replacing the rear 545i badge with a 516i or 518i. It would stun those fellows trying to race with you.

Just for sharing the problem was the bearing connecting the shaft. Problem fixed lol thanks guys

Change Guibo joint as well when you change the center support bearing. That is one of the cause for jerking when you break.
