I thought it was kinda long overdue that I should post up some pics of my old gal .... since most of you have yet to see her. Here's some basic info on Elly - Elly as she's called ( named after Elly Beinhorn, the famous pre-war German daredevil aviator and the wife of uber Grand Prix driver Bernd Rosemeyer)Series : E36 3 series saloonModel : 1997/8 328i saloonNo. of owners : 2 thus farColor : Originally Biarritz Blue - now Montreal Blue Let's start with the new shoes (sort of) that just went on today. Was previously using BBS RX 18s, downsized to similar 17s and spent these few months feeling miserable at the way she looked. Somehow, the downgrade to 17s did not yield the kinda trade-off that I was looking for. The rims went from looking like dinner plates to more like tea saucers to make things worse ( thanks Juls for pointing that out
). Thanks to my ever-faithful and reliable friends aka wanna-be Racun Kings ( Roland, Doramon and Chan KS ), I was suckered (somewhat willlingly) into taking on the BBS RX 18s that were on sale at Era Maju earlier today. The 17s and the new Falken tires were traded in with a small top up for these. Rather sheepishly ... pleased to say that I'm back where I had started with Elly. 1. Here's close up at the shop - thanks to Roland & Doramon
2. At home after getting back ....
3. And yes .... to quote Doramon - TOKYO DRIFT RUBBERS! Banzai !!!
Running on 235/40/18 Toyo T1Rs all round. A little harder riding but much better grip and traction compared to the 225/45/17 Falken FK452s that I was running before. Now that we've sorted the rubber issue out, let's move on to more important stuff coming up - ICE, lightings and ???? Cheers, VaN.
