Hi there,Need to seek your opinions on this issue. I have just did my Inspection 2 on my E46. I also change the break disk and pads (front and rear)...cost me a bomb!!!! for this service. The issue here is that I noticed that my mileage has 800+ km added to it, is this normal? I hope its not  Anyone out there exprience this before? Do let me know. ThanksRegards

ek!!!... 800km added onto your mileage??? dude how long did u leave the car there with them... it seems like they did not have the parts in AB for you and instead of getting their lorry to bring it up from singapore for them... they just drove the car down to singapore and fit the brake pads there... i just did mine in july last year and i did not have 800 kms added to my mileage just about 10 miles or so for them to run in the breaks... it did cost a bomb though...

kyap, i dont think your mileage shall be increase, pls check it at your work order and then compare with your mileage. U can ask the AB advisor or sent them a lawyer letter, he he he. Good luck

Bro, this is not normal... Pls check with your AB guys.
Few km. diff. is OK, but 800+km is weird!

Hi kyap, before we can arrive at any conclusion how long you left your car at AB. 800km req. at least > 18hrs.

Hi,

I brought it in on Thursday 4th morning 8am...told me will be ready Friday evening, but was not ready on Friday, called on Saturday also not ready...so only called me on Monday. Car was with them over the weekend. Yep, Singapore is about right. Dont think they have the right to drive my car into Singapore, by the way my Singapore access card was in the car too...shit! sound more like Singapore. Thanks guys will get it clerify with AB tomorrow.

Thanks.

Chehhhhm AB- big company, small brain. Managed by bullshitt. That why I choose to send my UDM to mechanic operating under pokok cherry. They`re honest people.Cheap labour charge too.:)

i think u should really argue about this, test drive after overhaul engine or gearbox also no need 800+KM lar, seems like someone go penang eat char koey teow and then come back during the weekends

It is a serious allegation. Please get to the bottom of this.

When any car is sent to the workshop, the mileage is usually registered in the service worksheet. When did you notice the difference in 800km mileage? It would be difficult to complain or justify if it is after a few days later. but the opportunity is there for the car to be "driven" out of the workshop for a joyride.

Even if you cannot get thing "done", at least you might prevent such incident from happening if the management is aware of such misuse when you report it.

hopefully, there are security cameras that proved that the car is driven out of the workshop compound and came back a day later.

AB have made mistakes with recording down my mileage as well. There are 2 places where they record it, one in your service receipt and the other in the service booklet. For my case, the service booklet was correct, but the service receipt sheet was wrong. See if the mileage for yours tallys for both.

Dude,

first, ask the Sales advisor to check your mileage or your service records there.

second,
pls go check if you got any speeding tickets.

you'll know what to do from there..

Also did my service II last year in JB but don't have additional milage recorded but the CS is really full of Bull SHIT. I called the hot line and inform them that when I am due for next service, I will not want him to touch my record.

Anyway, I use both Top Power and AB.. AB is to keep my service record and Top Power for any other repairs. Think they know but still Lan Lan. Value of car is in the service record you keep. Did met some young chap that got no service record when they buy the car so facing a hell lot of problem.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the advise. I noticed the additional milage as I drove off the AB center. Anyway, I went back and talked to the service advisor, was told that he made a mistake when he register my milage when he created the service call!!!! What to do got to accept the explaination :( Anyway, I have requested for some formal letter from AB, to indicate that my car was under the care of AB during the service period, which is 4 days, but yet to get anything from them. I have finally decide not to return to AB for future service. Anyone got advise as which service shop outside should I go? Am thinking of the shop at Taman Mayang (not sure of the name) or Heritage? Appreciate the advise. Thanks.

hi kyap,
if u wan to go taman mayang i would suggest Karl Benz, tis workshop is not bad.it offer service to most of bimmer and merc.both of my old man's merc and bimmer is serviced by tis workshop and the price is quite reasonable

Why don't you try Sapura Auto, thier workmanshop is cheaper than AB.

i know for a fact that sometimes AB mechs do drive clients' car around... as they call it - 'test power'... 4 days is a long time my fren....

uncle, where do you send yours for service? I am currently looking for a good mechanic....somewhere in KL?? I have an E46, 325 Msport.

Your car definitely went and visit GEYLANG during that weekend. My advise is when u left your car overnite in the workshop regardless AB or not, u should go and spot check in the next day for verification.
