The top 2 drivers with the e36 have taken part in numerous autocross events before and hence their better showing, not forgetting the setup and tires used, Group B winner was running on semi slicks, anyone noticed?

first of all, thanks to the bmwclub committee and all the volunteers for such a great and fantastic event. everything went smoothly, and competitors just concentrated on having fun and driving.
and no need special setup wan la
just drive what you brung.. all i did after work on friday, was to take out my baby seat, assorted rubbish, clear out all those loose items, and showed up on saturday.
my car is on standard springs, bushings, anti-roll bar except for slightly firmer than oem local titan dampers(no fancy german brands), standard engine and exhaust(k&n drop-in filter and 325 manifold...wow).. autogearbox(250,000km and slipping...) no LSD(so couldnt get high) standard brakes with some oem pad i cant even remember the brand... i couldn't find my tyre pressure gauge, last did alignment more than 3 months ago, ran with everything in my boot including spare tyre.. used ron95 petrol, carried a passenger on all my timed competitive runs, last changed any bushings 2 years ago...oil sump is leaking, and theres a strange 'klock-klock' sound coming from the front right hand side of the car(its worse now).... and i didnt know goodyear rs-sports were semi-slicks since i use them to go to work, shopping, pickup my kid..etc. everyday rain or shine. must remember to stop driving at 120km/h on the highway while its raining... and lastly, i've only entered 2 autocross events since 2006(not including this event) and 3 events during the period of 2004-2005.
my point is, dont let owning a standard non-modified car stop you from entering.. its more about the fun and good company. next time, we're going to have a bbq!!!
cheers.
