IDrive Display Gone Blank

The IDrive display in the middle of the dashboard on my E60 suddenly went blank by itself as it was driven just a moment ago. The radio wasn't on at that point but after the screen went blank I tried turning on the radio but of course it didn't work. Any other owners experienced this problem before? I stopped the engine and waited a while before re-starting. Still the screen remained blank. Any advice appreciated on what to look out for before I go to the workshop. BTW it's a 2006 locally assembled model.CheersPete

Dont get panic bro . probably some electronic glitch ie : connection and etc .

Disable the bluetooth function. I faced the same thing a few years back .... no problem since then ...:top: ..

try check ur battery bro.... happened to me last week... found out my battery has never been change before since 2004 ... so i changed the battery and the dead idrive problem is resolved.

Thanks guys for all the advice! Been busy with limited access to the net. Surprising thing is the screen came back on the next day when I started the car and its been functioning normal ever since, touch wood. Dunno what exactly caused the blackout...

happened to me few times before..what i did was, off the engine and have a cup of coffee at any kopitiam..after about half an hour, its ok..otherwise, try to reset your i drive. Just push both eject buttons (DVD and CD) and the volume knob at the same time..
