[HOWTO] Powering E36 OBC on the benchGuys, I'm documenting the work I did hoping it would help others and my future self. It was done when helping Riz to fix his OBC with dead pixel. This is required since I don't own an E36, but would be useful for E36 owners anyway since you don't have to constantly go to the car to test it out.Riz's OBC is the 8-button variant with only one connector at the back - X1070, black connector. Wiring should be similar to 11 or 18 button with extra power connections, the first schematic below is for 18-button OBC which is a superset of 8-button OBC.To power it up, these three (3) pins need to be drivenpin 17 (gnd) - groundpin 18 (pow) - +12vpin 14 (ign) - +12vPin 16 can be supplied with +12v to light up the buttons. Picture as follows, cheers.Reference:http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87693Soldered directly because there's no connector suitable connector around
