How good K&N air filter??

Time to change my air filter, but curious how good the K&N brand air filter if compare to the normal air filter?? Really as what it claims that increasing power etc..?? Normal filter cost us ard rm70, how much for K&N one??

I have not heard that mod seriously help to save fuel and increase power... Keep it original and you get the best from your ride.

K&N filter gives u better airflow but do not expect tremendous result from it. Most of the time, one will not really feel the difference. Good thing is they are washable so we might save in the long run?

u r right, i brought it for RM 350 for my E46 318i, after installing it for the first time and test drive u sure can feel abit power increase 1, but after driving for a month u get used to it and wont feel anything anymore. for the 350 i pay, my brain tell me that there is power increase :rock:

my drop in filter no sound difference, unless its K&N open pot, or claypot then the sound is louder

Well, have to agree with most of you that the open pod air filter makes a very nice growling sound (like a lion???). That is for those who wants nice sound without having to touch the exhaust system. But then again, to have open pod air filter, one must always have CAI (cold air intake), otherwise if hot air from the engine bay is sucked in, the performance will definitely drop (bad side of having open pod).

Agreeable with Mouse, most of the time, after spending $ on parts, one have to "feel" that he gains more power from it

nice sound only on open pod type, but then unless if u have CAI, you loose power esp in hot stop n go traffic.....

real benefit? its 1 million miles life.

i say go for it....350 is ok, per replacement is 70. So the K & N filter will last you at least 7 times the normal filter and in addition it will give you better airflow. Yet you can wash it to clean it until the filter element wears out.

I have K & N fitted on my wira. Been using it till now, still in good condition. Saved me lots of $$$$$$$. do the math lah.
