Hi Guys and Girls,

Recently faced with one issue that i can seem to figure out. When i turn off the engine of my e34 M20, theres this short Hissing sound which comes from the engine bay. It repeats for 3-5 times before disappearing... has anybody experienced this or know where the fault is? Thanks so much :)

can I make a guess.....
1. you are in the driver seat
2. doors all closed
3. you just shut the engine down

and you hear this "hiss" in succession about 5 secs and all is quiet after that......

if my guess is true....don't fret.those are your stepper motors, which controls the air circulation flaps, finding it's home.perfectly normal.they are louder now as they are old....

Correct. It's like that on my E90 as well.

Hi Moots,

The stuation is:

1. Turn off the ignition
2. get down from the beauty
3. lock the doors
4. walk to the front of the e34 to open house door
5. hear hissing sounds from the front somewhat like Mini Blow Off Valves haha
