Hi guys,

Recently my F10 520i makes high pitch Whinning noise when accelaring. Mechanic told me my turbo is fine but he changed the vacuum pump, a valve and ignition coils with plugs as well. However the noise is still there. It's getting annoying. Anyone had experienced this before? Thanks in advance!

You better check your timing chain rail. All n20 before manufacturing date 3/2015 might have problem the plastic rail broken.

Does it means that newer model has no plastic rail? Or has it been replaced with other material?

Plastic rail is still being used. quality of the plastic should have been improved on newer variants.

The only think that gives a high pitch whine is the turbo.. if it's ok.. it's ok. If there is not lag n loss of power . I reckon it's ok. Both my 320d and 730d also has whinning noise.. so is my ranger..

Found the culprits... Turbo and rear differential and got them replaced.
