Hi there,Thinking of fixing hids for my e36 but there are concerns:>Will we need to reset any code when installing HIDs?>I hv removed the inner lens of the headlamps and installed CCFLs. Any adjustment needed for the headlamp when fixing HIDs?Currently the light throw is scattered due to the lens removal.>Any thing else to look out for when buying HIDs?Thanks.Enkryan

Let make it E46 as well. I also thinking of installing HID but I heard from a few shop that sell HID, because the wattage of the HID is low (35W) compare to the hologen bulb (55W), the headlight taletell warning light will appear all the time after the installation. Is that true?.

Thanks.

There is nothing to worry about of fixxing HID to an E36, but E46 will have the taletell warning light on which E36 don't. But no worry 323ci, the kit I told you doesn't have this problem at all. Why? Because the kit is made from different manufacturer.

guys and gals,

sorry to hijack. how about white light bulb upgrade from phillips rather than HID? any better than stock halogen?

thinking of spending wisely.

tq

Of course the stock halogen is better visibility than white bulb, especially when raining.

I use to have a PIAA 7800k hologen bulb. Nice to look at but useless when driving at night, worse when driving in the rain. Better off with stock hologen or HID.

i was also inform by the person that you would surely need to send the car back to auto bavaria to reset the fault but only for 323 and above ....318 no problems....btw is a e36
:)

Then sure the HID kit is not compatible. And the installer is no experiance.
Because I never came accross this problem after installing so many sets for E30, E36, E46, E34 and E39.
