Help....Can't lock the door manually

Dear Sifus,Need help please. My ride is an e46 318 '04. The car remote doesn't work since i got the car early this year. So was relying on manual locking/unlocking of the car all this while.Upon reaching home, as per normal I'd lock the car. But this time around, the key twist to lock, opened all the windows instead. And the car was not locked! I opened the door, got in and restart, close all the windows let the engine run for a few minutes (dunno why i did that) and stopped. Got out of the car again, tried to lock it once more but it just doesn't lock, this time around only the driver side windows opened. Noticed that the key hole is now 'free', i mean easily twisted to left/right.I can still lock the door from the inside using the central locking button.Don't wanna do a Mr Bean (put padlocks on the doors).......what should i do?Thanking all in advance.

check the lock. it is stuck in overshot position. that why all your window opens.

btw, have you try to resyn your key?

Have checked visually, don't think the lock is stuck. Could it be caused by the lock mechanism gave way/broke?

Resync? Nope, have not tried to resync it before. How/who can do it apart from AB? Appreciate the advise. Was advised by AB last time to redo the whole set of keys at a cost of RM1k+.......my bad then...

Had a check with the mech, and sure enough, the internal locking mechanism broke. Had to get a new lock, then modify it (if that's the right word) so the original key can work. Lock now feels much smoother when twisted.

do you have a spare key. if have does it work for the remote function .
most probably you don't have a spare key. i have posted the resyn procedure before. search for it.
if the resyn does not work chances is yr battery is not charging. you can change the battery
but it is quite hard to do.
you can get a spare key from tweiboon.

no spare keys. just a single key since i took ownership of the car.

have tried to resync the key according to the procedure, but its still not working either. will look at the battery or even change the casing as needed.

hi.. my key housing give away too.. did resync at BMworld desa pandan.. and change the housing with kedai potong spare..
mechanic said when manually open and locking using key.. the housing key pecah..

I also having similar key problem like gendong...the different is i am able to use my remote to lock the car but cant unlock. I have to manually unlock the door using the key. But when i am in the car and i try to use the central lock button (beside your hand brake) to lock the door, it wont work as well....pening..pening...
