Hi, guysI purchased this coolant at a petrol station. It's branded as ESSO.Some friend told me that I can't add coolant by myself, and I have to go to BMW service and let them help me to add the coolant.Well, other friends told me that I can simply add the coolant by myself.I'm a bit confused. Please your suggestions are needed. Thank you in advance!Picture of the coolant, it's of green liquid.

As for the coolant, why not use the one from BMW? That would be the best as it's made for BMW...

Yes, please explain why BM coolant sucks ? Also can senior/ sifus advise what diference, between coolant that you add to the radiator water and coolant that is to be used on its own ie Not to be add to water eg Shell coolant. which is better ?

BMW coolant is used mostly in europe, hence the cold weather there is more than hot.

In malaysia, the bmw coolant does not last due to our very, very hot weather...
i have used it many times, it works fine, but not my engine..

the Nasa and Toyota coolant is much better, it helps to lubricate the water pump and coat the seals..

regards.

The coolant in the BMW recirculates.

Just pour it into your expansion tank.

:top:

no point paying BMW to do something this easy.

How about 30% coolant with 70% water ?
Our weather never freeze, so there is no point using 50% coolant.
Coolant also contain anti-corrosive agent to prevent rusting (water + metal = BAD )

I also suggest 100% RO water. (Reverse Osmosis)
Tap water have too much crap in it.

Is the ratio really that important? If worry cannot get the ratio right, then just buy the pre-mix coolant lor and tuang masuk. Kao tim.. :D

I have seen pre-mix coolant that comes with a warning sticker "Warning: Do not dilute!" :stupid:

there's no truth in saying BMW coolant suck. where is the proof?
u dun have to go to AB to buy it. most bmw w/shop oso have em.
no sifu can explain why it is bad. most forumer here just givin their personal experiance or worse of all.....they just agak-agak only. say things for fun!!

i have used it and still using it. nothing bad happens oso.
