I was actually looking for a suitable front spoiler for my e34. Going for the m5 or ACS looks is totally out of the picture. Cause the spoiler is not really a spoiler after all, as it's actually half of the full bumper, and it need to be painted (i admit, I'm on a tight budget, cause I'm still a student). And if I were to go for that look, I need to go for the side skirts and rear skirting as well.. and that equals to more $$. Also not going to go for Alpina either (if eggie were to suggest me this hahahah :p ), cause I'm running on ACS type 3 racing. The car would totally look as if it has identity crisis.So while I was surfing around in the net for suggestions from BMW forums in UK and USA, I found that quite a number of them opt for the 'volvo spoiler trick'. Which they will a buy a volvo 940 front lip from the junkyard, and mount it on their e30/34. Some may mount it right-side up or upside down (which i prefer the latter).And this is not just strictly for BMWs, but other makes as well. As i've seen a picture of a honda jazz doing the volvo lip trick, while I was googling for images of this said 'trick'And here are some of the websites I mentioned earlier; http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=332415http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75827And here are some picture of the said trick;

This is an old one. In the States they do it 'cos you can get this Volvo lower lip for mad cheap like (US $15-20) and they have those in abundance in every junk yard. I highly doubt that's the case here in Malaysia.
Another non-bmw part that you can fix onto e30 is Ford Taurus side skirts. This require very little tweaking.

wooo this is interesting... wonder if i can get a hold on this in malaysia.... but i think, finding a 940 lip in malaysia wouldn't be that hard.. when there are 940s on the road, there shall also be 940s in the junkyard.. will survey more on this..

Haha, still WIP la bro. :p

All the best with your search. Should be able to get a 940 lip from those kedai potong!

Where will you try first? Sunway got one, Kinrara area also got a few chop shops.

I'll be trying somewhere near my house in usj... there are a few chop shops near usj 17... but before then, i might be visiting theva first to see whether he got simple spoiler lips for e34..

there's a volvo chop shop in Jalan Chan Sow Lin, maybe you might wanna check them out.

I don't think they ever imported Ford Taurus to M'asia. But hey it doesn't have to be a Taurus. You can try any other make, specially the local made ones (proton, perdua), as long as they fit and look decent. Main thing is part has to be readily available and cheap. Otherwise it defeat the purpose right.

wawwww nice I need one pm me .

Loads of chop shop specialists there bro. Especially for Conti makes. I think that shop also advertises on the back pages of Motor Trader.

yeah i do agree om everything you say.. if trying the feat here is much more expensive than going for a replica that is readily available, then wth, let's just go for the reps

I also saw the thread on bimmerforums much earlier.... only reason didn't try was that I didn't think the front lip would clear speed bumps, ramps.....etc.

yeah, if you're running on lowered sport springs, you will definitely catch speed bumbs. but i've been browsing a lot on this, and i've got to say the review on its strength is astonishing. these lips are as tough. it's from a volvo after all. but if i were to do this on my car, i think it would be ok, cause i'm running on stock standard springs. still got the little hang over at the front. as per the first picture i put in the first page

I saw a nice silver/blue E34 with ACs as well [maybe type1 or 3 - I dunno man :p] on late Monday night before the fork to Carrefour/USJ.

hahah you know, i actually bumped into you once... as I just got down the ramp from sunway pyramid's parking to merge with the main traffic... couldn't help from spotting your alpina decals. But I wasn't driving my e34 that time.

Now I'm often at my dad's office in ss15. near the new 3M tinting shop. Currently going thru my final exam, so the ambiance at my dad's office is very conducive for studying, so i'm usually there till midnight.So my 34 will always be parked around there. And as for today, parking penuh, got to park at carrefour and take the crossing bridge to go to ss15. So if you bump into my 34, don't forgot to take picture of it and post it in the 'bimmer spotting' thread hahahahaa
