Hard to mover auto gear lever

Hi guys,When the gear lever of an auto e34 is hard to push in....what does it mean? Gearbox or just the lever needs so repairs?Thanks

what do u mean hard to push in? hard to shift from N to D or from D to P? i have hard shifting into P, but after i change the gearbox mouting, everything is smooth again to shift into P

Errr....from N to D difficult but from D to N the R is even more diff...like must use force

Hope current BMW owner can advice this..

When shift from N to D is smooth but from P to D or N to P I will hear a soft "Clonk" sound from the rear.. as if the diff of the car have free play...

Could it be the oil that is used in the transmission?
