Greetings from a new E90 Owner

Greetings from a new E90 owner! Well .... not *quite* yet. I just put in my booking yesterday and if all goes well, I should be getting my new ride 1 or 2 weeks from now. My (online) name is Orion, by the way. Nice to "meet" all of you here. I just got myself one of the very last E90s in Malaysia from a dealer. I'd figured with the new F30 in town, I can probably get my first "old" BMW for a good price. And get this, I wasn't even thinking of owning one until 4 days ago! Curiosity on the F30 got the better of me. I was browsing the BMW web site looking for the new F30, wondering what's the going price. I entered my personal contact information and within 30 minutes I received a call from a dealer - not bad.The guy on the line told me that it's RM269K for the 320d and the first batch of 200 units (I think) were all sold out! He then offered me a deal to take up the last few units of the 320i Sports that are in stock, with a very attractive discount. I made an appointment to visit the show room and promptly went over on early Saturday morning and the rest, they say, is history. [ And I made the decision without a test drive! ... had to go outstation in the morning, so I didn't have the time ]So here I am looking forward to the delivery and trying to learn as much as I can trawling thru this forum and it's been great so far. A bit about me :1. Male2. Staying in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam3. Occupation - your regular IT guy, been in the industry/vendor enviroment close to 19 years, now in an end user environment.4. Current and soon to be previous ride - Honda Civic 2.0, 4+ years, so this is my first conti car .... Before that, I went thru 3 Protons - Saga Aeroback 1.3, Wira 1.5 and Perdana V6. Had a serious accident with the Perdana V6 and the car was in the EON Glemmarie workshop for close to 4 months, I had to go there every other day to follow up on them. That single experience convinced me that I will NEVER EVER own a Proton, even if it is the last car on the planet. Anyway, I do hope to learn more about the E90 from all of your guys/gals/sifus here and in time, I look forward to contributing here as well. One last thing .... I will be joining this club as an official member, once I get my car registration done that is ... Cheers!:wink:

Welcome bro Orion, m sure u will learn much from the E90 thread. From my understanding u havent test drove either the 320i nor the 320d? Correct me if I'm wrong but my estimate price difference between the 2 that was offered to you would be 10k? Why not give both a test drive than you'll know better

Unfortunately, there weren't any 320d on offer. They only have 320i Executive and 320i M Sport only.

I do have a friend who has a 530d and he has been raving about it every time I see him!

For this time I will stick to a 4 pot petrol engine for starters. If the UDM is as good as it sounds, I may save up enough for the next upgrade.
