Hi Bro & SisCurrently I've problem for my E46 2004. Does anyone experienced some sound came out from the gear nob area? Sounds like 'click..click...click...click...'(the sound is not so loud, if you on music slightly loud definitely cannot hear it)' This sounds happen in 1st & 2nd transmission especially when you drive in 20km/h - 30km/h, you may clearly hear the 'click' sound inside the car.Kindly advise if you happen this before, thanks.

cheekychewy26 here...told u my car hv rattling sound near glove compartment?...well..i solved it..aft 3 months! its actually from the front passenger airbag bracket...probably got loose from bumpy rides...so i thump on it few times n...VOILA....no more sound!
so i guess your problem is probably the gear nob is not secured in its place..thump on ur nob coupla times...might just fix it. :top:

its needs a womans touch....but just make sure she stays away from the knives!

i think need a woman touch....lolx. just kidding man..... the sound i know is from the gearbox nob down inside there, like below my car. When move on, the 'tik' tik' tik'....sound pop up.

get the car jacked up on a proper hoist and let a mech check for you. Could be a loose gearshift linkage, located next to the gearbox oil sump. Sounds mechanical to me and I can only pinpoint to the gearshift linkage. It could be slightly out of position and needs to be realigned.
