Gear knob, bushing and accelerator pedal

Guys, need some help here, i'm getting a manual E30 soon. Tested the car few days back and it's great. One thing which concern me is that the I can actually turn the gear knob in circle (or put it simple, i can't tighten the gear knob) and the free play is a lot (might be due to worn shifter bushes)..besides, the accelerator pedal is very heavy..is there anything i can do with the gear knob and the free play (is it caused by worn bushing?) and can the pedal be adjusted so that it's lighter?sifu out there, pls advice..tqcheers

The throttle's bowden cable can be replaced to be smoother (and less slack). Also check the return spring on the throttle body - sometimes pple add/modify the spring to compensate for a sticky cable - hence the weight.
