future e39 owner

hi all,Been following this thread for quite a while n i'm impressed with all the info be it technical or general u can get in this forum. Seem like there's a lot of helpful sifus n masters in here whose alwys there 2 help wen u need it.. . Anyway im juz abt 2 purchase a 2002 ckd 520i 2.2 cc e39, juz wandering 1) does dis model cum wif electric seats, cos the 1 im gonna purchae has manual ctrl.2) Some of de 39's i saw here cum with clear signal lens in the front headlight, is dat facelifted model??3) read up the topic abt the VIN nos, sum1 meantion abt finding it on the reg card? cos all i see is eng n chasis nosappreciate any help frm the guru'e here cos lookin fwd to be owning dis udm....hav a great driving wknd 2 all.....

Yep. For me its a 'must have'.

Clear lense came in 1999 model onwards me think..dont know why AB sold the orange lense. Get the clear lense la...more cun.

VIN no is the 'No Casis' in the JPJ reg card.

appreciate any help frm the guru'e here cos lookin fwd to be owning dis udm....hav a great driving wknd 2 all.....

I'd go for post 2001 525i and pay the extra . The difference is HUGE!!! You may regret later.

hi bro, i did consider dat n went 2 test drive 1, i must say its pretty good,but sadly its been thru an accident as shown by my mechanic.... actually the 2,.2 double vanos is not bad either as i dun tend to speed as i prefer the comfort of de ride. me safe driver mah...

heh..heh..bmw drivers usually get the speed bug in the end even though he naturally is not fast driver. but the choice is yours. a word of caution, don't rush. it took me 3 mth to find my perfect used e39.

Let me try to help,
1. Only the last batch of E39 (Year 2003) comes with electric seats
2. Even the last batch is still with amber lights covers. What you saw on the road have changed them to clear lens-type

btw, its tough gettin a loan nowadays, or is it bcos i wen thru direct n not thru an agent, any1 encounter dis prob b4???

Mine is 528 yr 97 UK Spec got electric memory seat.

Just to clarify on #2,
mine 2003 came with single piece clear lens with angle eyes and yes with electric seat too.
