only tried Falken FK452 (19"), cheaper than Yoko or Dunlop. Value for money & a bit noisy than the standard Continental RFT. Wet road holding:top:

I will not choose FK452 again! Noisy is what I hate the most of it. Regret for choosing it! I have 2 pieces of 225/40/18 and 2 pieces 255/35/18 with about 85% thread balance. Only used it for about 10,000 km. Let me know if interested and make an offer. I am going back to Michelin PS2 :D

Hi David,

Am looking at PS2 as well...where do u suggest can get it at good price??

I think can get it at Speedline. Good workmanship and price too. Hmmm, it's time to give the boss a call soon :D

The best I ever experience -----Yoko Advan Sport :)

Advan Sport is noisy.

Falken 452- noisy? You must be the only one to complain so far. I think it is the only tyre to give Michelin PS2 (and CSC3) the jitters for money since 2007.

PS2 is slightly more comfortable on the hwy but not so good like Falken 452 over small potholes! Balik Kampung is a good test for tyres.

I did my shopping at klang last weekend....came back home with a set of Falken452 rubbers. Its got less than 100km's on them at the moment so its probably too early to give a verdict on the tire performance at this point in time...will give them a couple of thousand k's to scrub in first.

I tried looking for PS2's and CSC2 but its pretty darn hard to get them in 265/35/18 size so finally gave up and settled for my 3rd choice..of course after some haggling...

are yu sure mr yong

I just bought Falken 452 [18 inch] for my company car about 2 weeks ago. I had Continental Sport 2 [9 months] before that and Michelin PP2 nearly 2 years ago.

Even wife for the first time, said the Falken 452 was better than the rest. She complain she could never feel much difference when I changed tyres. Now she said the noise is quieter and grip / road feel improved. The smoothness is also better.

I had Michelin PP2 and I can say that it is slightly better than a Sime tyre.
I skidded 4 times on this during cornering [shortcut to puchong from sunway bend] The continental is better and needed less balancing and smoother than PP2.

Is Michelin PS 2 better? In what way?
I really don't know.

The Goodyear Assymetric is said as being best highend tyre by Evo and others.
Cannot find this tyre in KL.
So for me, the 452 is still the best value.

had the chance to tried the Dunlop DZ101 for about 400km before changing it to PS2...was previously on PP2...

the shop told me that this DZ101 is way better than PP2 in anyway with superior wet grip...decided to try it and wat i can say is it is full of crap...here's my opinion on this tyre...

Dry grip is OK but if pushed hard then it would feel really unconsistent...high speed (>200kmh) is almost as scary as watching scary movie...haha...at that speed the car feels unsettle and it is really hard to drive in straight line especially if u zoom pass a lorry it will give u a surprise by swerving against the lorry...

Wet grip...errmmm i dun have confidence at all using this tyre on wet roads especially when the road has alot of water puddles...this tyre will punish u straight away when u go over this and if during corner then just pray that ur car dun skid coz u can really feel the sudden loss in grip/traction...

apart from this balancing and alignment is an issue for this tyre with directional thread patterns...

I must say it is worst than PP2 in overall characteristics...

Disclaimer

- based totally on my opinion and not factual
- i am not working for Michelin

hehehe

I m running on my 6th set (6 X 4 PIECES) of DZ101 now ... 235/45/17.

Overall I prefer this as compared to PP 2 and CS.

Highspeed stability is good - 220 - 250 kmh
Wet grip - i wud say excellent. The car does not pull when u hit a patch

Grip - excellent. I did not oversteer or understeer so far ... wet or dry

Tire wear - pretty much even ...

Noise - got a bit ...
Price : 450 - 480 a piece

CONS :

Had 3 bad experience with relatively new tires (less than 3 mths) - bulging. Warranty claims - managed to get 3/4 of the price.

The last 2 set bought from a DUNLOP dealer in Seremban. She told me that most probably the bulging is due to 'underwater tires'.

HOWEVER - i know a a fren of mine had BIG problem with this tire. He is driving an E39 18".

the DZ101 tyres i bought is 2x 245/35/19 (RM980 each) and 2x 275/30/19 (RM1270 each) all made in Japan...

seems like it does not have a consistent performance for all the sizes...

another thing i forgot to mention is the bulging on one of the tyres also...i tot it was my rim dented but afta check it was the tyre.

Replay,

Currently I'm on Falken 452 front 235/40/18 & rear 265/35/18. I would say its value for money. Minimal noise & well grip on dry & wet road.
How much u get yours in Klang?

Highspeed stability is good - 220 - 250 kmh = don't bluff, u now playing with MRT and SG taxi, above 90 also kena saman. what 250kmh all

Wet grip - i wud say excellent. The car does not pull when u hit a patch = the only wet patch now is in Geylang

KL-SG-KL - weekly trip - 1hr 45 +-

The best wet patch is when you get wet ..

I've driven the FK452's 18' on a friends Golf GTI. Grip wise good, but I found them noisy as well. Then again, noise is relative. Among the choices above, I'd pick the Yoko Advan Sport. If I am not mistaken they are OEM for some of the Porsches and high end performance car manufacturers are quite picky on what tyres become OEM tyres. Usually it can't be very noisy tyres for OEMs :)
