Hello everybody,

Received my F30 328i early 2015 and have been driving it for over a year now.

V Kool package have been installed as part of the free stuff I get for the new buy.

I have notice that the zircon in this F30 is not so powerful and takes significant more time to cool down and I still have sweaty back during long drive.

In my wife's Japanese model, even on a hot day I usually no need to turn the dial to anything below 22C, and the interior gets cool rather quickly.
But in my F30 I have to really turn it all the way down to 18C and it really take a bit of time for it to cool down.

I have mention this issue to the service centre a couple of time and to have it look at but they basically told me there is nothing wrong and that thats the normal state of the car.

one of my friend who have a new 5 series say he have no such problem with his car.

I just want to ask a honest question to the F30 owner in this forum, is this really the way it is for our F30?
That the F30 zircon is just not that strong....I would like to listen to your experience on this matter.

Thanks

Same with my F30 LCI. Really need to put it down to 21C for cooling feel. My Mazda set at 24C cool like fridge.

Same thing with my 328i; specifically:
1. Feet blower takes forever to come on.
2. Rear blower takes much longer to cool the cabin as well.

Entering 3rd year..so far no issue..temp range 22.5 - 23.5.
328i MSport with 3M tinted

Air supply to feet side always feels warmer than the front side at all times. Is that normal? I have to set temperature lower than 23 C, only then feels cooler air to feet side.

On the positive side(kind of), looks like a lot of us is having the same issue, so it doesn't sound like I am having a faulty car..
On the other hand, this is bad for F30 owners...
I can live with it as I enjoy the ride...but, my better's half is quietly letting me know that her parent prefer to travel in her car, and complaint whenever I pick them up with my F30, they prefer my wife's Japanese car as they will be sweating all the way in the backseat of my car...Shocker, and very embarrassing indeed.
Thinking of the option I can have now to change the air con system, or changing the car.....

really woh, the aircon is slow to cool and at the backseat is not so comfortable on a hot day.
Tell me, usually you set your air con to how many Celsius? for a hot day lah

Same here. Not a big issue. I keep mine at 22 degrees C.

I feel that my old E90's aircond is bit better.

But then again my 320i LCI is parked in the shade most of the time. :)

Read my reply #4 that with fan set at 1
Hot day, 22-23 with fan set at 2 :)

My 328i's AC is less effective than my previous Accords - by far.

It will eventually cool down but honestly, it takes a much longer time.

And yes, for the air vents for the feet at the front seats and for the back passenger, I also have temperature differential too ie always less cool (and sometimes even feels slightly warm).

In the AC department, the Japanese trumps the Europeans.

my friend say I have a "HOT' car, aiyo....

I just delivery of F30 LCI a month back and notice some strange behavior with the AC. The driver side of the center blowers occasionally emit warm air while the rest of the blowers still blowing cool air. It happens randomly every now and then. Did anyone notice the same? I consistent set the temp to 18-19c to get the cooling feel.

Mine is a 320i LCI two month old car and just happen to begin have the same issue today.

The aircon just went gila suddenly, blowing hot air now and then even when the temp is set to 16C during both auto and manual mode and my kid was complaining that the rear aircon is too cold.

Before that like JHLuke said, the temp is not cold even when its set to 21C compared to my other Honda which is already freezing with the same temp.

Will booked a service appointment next week to have it checked out.

Try to check the air flow for passenger side, I notice sometimes passenger temperature cooler even set the same Celsius.

Thanks for the advice :)

The car is in the service centre now since Thursday, they couldn't fix the problem even after reprogramming the ECU.

So have to leave the car now for further hardware troubleshooting, worst case scenario would have to replace the whole unit.

Is yours consistently giving the problem? Mine happens at random so if I send in to the workshop I doubt they can solve the issue since it is not easily reproducible. I will wait until the problem become more apparent first. Please share the findings from your car if they manage to solve the issue.

Initially it was random then got worst and happened consistently after 2nd day.

Yesterday they still couldn't figure out what went wrong, apparently hardware and sensor check says everything is ok.

Didn't follow up today and the center didn't even care to update me, Will follow up with them again tomorrow.

I have the same problem with my F30 LCI. But similar to ystan, it only occur randomly. I do believe that our batch may have some issues with the AC unit.
