Hi all! I'm a newbie and been reading the forum since last year and convinced to purchase my first BMW 520 d.after second month of enjoying d car suddenly d engine dies off w/o any warning.can u all imagine it was in the middle of a busy roundabout!!!!!this is madness.i remain calm and manage to start d car for a while and move the car by the roadside.call bmw towtruck and manage to sent it to autobavaria on friday night.monday went To autobavaria and promise to call but nothing.i call in d evening they said its due to relay problem and can only get the parts on thursday.so its already a week in d autobavaria.i'm speechless and devastated for this ultimate driving misery.so i hope owners who had this experience can share with what are the causes.thanks and relieved

Got the car and they told it due to relay malfunction to the headunit.they dont know whats the cause.but they said it will not happened again.hopefully!thanks for showing concern to all forummers!

"ultimate driving misery" this is interesting...

wow can't imagine a small headunit relay could cause such a problem ...wondering what if you're at the fast lane overtaking and this happens ... :)

I have driving my 520d for the past 2 months....thus far it has been a "driving pleasure" ONLY. Hi Hi...

Had a similiar problem 1 week after i got my car. its due to loose connection between comman rail pump & ecu.
