how i modify it ? change to stainless steel piping ? wat mid box u using ? cath converter? and there is o2 sensor down there wat to do with all that ? pls advise thanks
here is my whole setup:
-obd2 tubular headers from 96-2000. they are same on 328's and m3's from them years. i home ported out the inside also.
-where the 2 seperate headers come down and bolt into the downpipes they "y" together for the o2 sensor. right where they "y" together it 's about a 2 1/2" diameter there. so i had the muffler shop cut the exhaust right there and weld in a single 2 1/2" pipe the whole way back.
-i had them relocate the 02 sensor like 1/2 foot back from the original location.
-i also put in a resonator to it didn't make the car sound like a jap ricey car!
-i have no catalytic converters at all. just one single resonator
-for the muffler i put in a flowmaster delta flow 40 series
-then coming out of the flowmaster i had them install a single inlet dual outlet chrome angled cut tip
the thing sounds awesome and runs soooooo much better on the top end! from 4000rpm and up it pulls a lot better. you loose some torque down low from the reduced backpressure but gain it back on the top end. and if you get cams and a good flowing intake this exhaust setup will work hand in hand with it!
it's a ton cheaper too! the headers cost me $100 used shipped to me. plus the header gaskets cost $50. the whole single 2 1/2" setup cost me $200 from a muffler shop. that included the resonator, flowmaster muffler, chrome tip, and labor. all total i have a complete badass exhaust for under $400 american dollars!
