Strangely enough, this build started long before I even saw her. I knew what I wanted and even in my mind, visualized and dreamt how she was to be.

So this is the story of my scandalous affair...My current ride then was a humble E46 318Ci M Sports and spoke Japanese, tho' she was a joy till the very hour we part ways. I remember that day as one would of their first love. Here she is on the tarmac, waiting for her inspectors, patiently. She still looks elegant as a lady should be compared to the others that bitched on her presence there. When it was finally over, we made haste to our next destination.

I could somehow feel that she knew of her fate whilst in the midst of all that she saw. Truth be told, I sense sadness in my heart as I gaze her for one last time.

A new love story begins

MPower.jpg

And so begin this journey of my new love. M, so powerful and alluring that men have known to go down on their knees and weep...

S54engine.jpg

Her S54B32 heart beats with 338 ponies running full at 7.9k rpm and 365 Nm at 4.9k rpm. Pedigreed in Regensburg, Germany, she completed her finishing school at the Nurburgring before being let into society. This lady, when cloaked in grey exudes a somber expression and boy, she's a bitch's bitch when she's hot and angry... Nonetheless, would you choose a deadwood for a lover?

Thevows.jpg

I said my vows and signed the papers on the 28th day of June in the year twenty ten thus sealing our fate.

Time to introduce her to the family...

Kalau gadis ber 'andam' se belum bernikah...

Sebagai perawan, aku perlu 'pasang' diri dan cekal hati...

The only way [as I was told by a sage] that I could unleash her full potential, is that I have to prepare myself for her. And so I did.

Maintenance before mods!

Some of the necessary 'oils' to smoothen the play...

Never ever underestimate the benefits of good oils!

Bring in the mod squad!

Uncertainfutureahead.png

From hood grills to fender sills,
How much more would my wallet wield!
Nak lagi cf rear diffuser,
Nanti gf kata aku giler!
Itu bukan lagi cf front splitters,
I might just have a head full of splinters!!!

As any gearhead will tell you, personalization of one's ride is part of the experience, not to mention, the joy of ownership. So the days and weeks ahead, mr google was my constant companion. At work, during meals and even when sitting on the can...

The worst one could do is to go overboard thus having a horrendous result! The art of modding, or should I say the fine art of modding, is... well a fine art. The E46 M3 is a well sculpted piece of machinery to start with. Any diversions to any of its major design lines is going to spell FAIL!!! More surf time is needed...

I realized that until I am very comfortable with any major mods, I am just going to go ahead with minor visualizations. Very subtle and nothing that is earth shattering! So I guess I'll just do these first before any serious attempts on improvements to performance and handling. Since she's cloaked in A08 Silver Grey, my thoughts was to go 'monochrome'.

Xmas came early that year when this arrived!

Lets get adventurous!

XMastree.jpg

Some months had passed. Read manuals cover to cover. Memorized dash and cluster lights and learnt some no-no lessons as well.
I am now more comfortable with her and after having some adventurous moves together, I think I'm ready for some serious stuff.

Saw some of of guys on Euro plates and thought I'd give that a try... but with a twist :

Lets see if the reflective background would have some effect on those damn camera flash. That is if I have the kahunas to take her out on the open highways with these!!!

So what now? Excuses excuses... I wanted better rear airflow for improved dynamics [bullshit!], thus a rear diffuser was ordered. Improved airflow equates to precious seconds shaved [that means she goes faster - another bull] thus needing improved front downforce [should I say more]. So front splitters were ordered too. Items are scheduled to arrive within the next two weeks or so. For now, enjoy these pics. I'll post the install pics once that is done...

It was this BIG! But it got away...

I remembered so well to this very day "Speed ain't worth shit if you can't stop in time son!"

These were for sale used in one of the forums that I frequent. Price were reasonably marked for the whole set [plus a pair of uprated and unused track pads] but with a shipping cost in access of USD800/- I had to come to my senses and said no :(

Indeed a good comment sir...

I was driving a 1.9 lt. and jumped to a 3.2 lt. and I needed the confidence to handle and to learn how to play with the new toy. 338 ponies can overwhelm oneself if not careful... :)

Besides, I would recommend that everyone attend the drivers training. Lots of things to learn even for a 'seasoned' driver.
