i'm kinda confused the diff of spec (cc) between pre-LCI and LCI model. Is the below info correct? Can someone pls enlighten me on this? coz i seen some posts in mudah.my mentioned 525i LCI model 2.5L and some mentioned 3.0L for the year of 2007Before 2007523i - 2.5L (N52)525i - 2.5L (N52)After 2007 (LCI)523i - 2.5L (N53)525i - 3.0L (N53)

If i am not mistaken only imported from uk e60 lci uses n53 engine. Local & Japan spec has a n52 engine. Something to do with the sulphur content in our fuel. Btw 523i & 525i uses the exact same engine, the difference is due to tuning.

523i & 525i= 2.5l
530i=3.0l

In UK both the 325i/330i E90 and 525i/530i LCI E60 uses the n53 3.0L engine, of different tunes.

That configuration doesn't work so well in this part of the world I guess, where roadtax is calculated based on CC. In UK roadtax was based on CO2 emission so engine displacement doesn't matter.

thanks. can i conclude that all UK(LCI) models are running on N53 engine while Local/Japan (LCI) models will always be running on N52?
