my bm 323 is just 18mths old. but the fc is screwing me royally. the current fc is 8km/l. i think this is too much. when i bought the car (new) it was abt 12km/l. i travel to kl daily from setia alam and the distance is 45k. so that is 5.6litre ie RM10.60.what happened? what are other bros/sis fc? please share (sharing is caring).

I think it is normal for a car with 2.5liter engine: If you stuck in jam regularly. Not too sure whether you reset the FC calculation since each refueling or it is an average since you bought the car.

Been using ron95 from july2011 onward. And on resetting, been doing it for short terms lately. I went to bukit tinggi colmar last deeoavali. The hway is freeflow but the fc is still 8km/l. It starts at abt 39ish but after a few mins, it goes to 8. Does it means i hv to do some serious servicing?

maybe OBC is a bit haywire..
I do the old fashion way (since my 20 year old car has no gimmicky OBC which I don't trust anyway...)
Pump full tank. Reset tripmeter. drive as usual, then after 1/2 or 3/4 tank, pump full again... record BOTH trip distance and total fuel ($ and L) pumped in.. then do the maths...
I have spreadsheet for that for the last 8 years... With the info for each full tank, I set formula to self-calculate L/100km, sen/km, MPG, km's since last service, Sparkplug age (in km) since last change, Front brake pads, rear brake pads, front tyres, rear tyres, gear oil, rear diff oil..

All the information I needed to know in 1 glance..

Date Price (RM) Litre Distance (KM) Litre/ 100km Sen/km MPG Remarks Petrol Mileage KM since last service Spark plugs Front brake pads Rear brake pads Front Tyre Rear Tyre Gear Oil Diff Oil 12/09/2011 71.69 37.73 358.0 10.54 20.0 26.80

Hi bro,

Mine is E90 325i (2006). Getting out around 600km per tank (until the OBC shows that there is around 80km before empty). Mine is mixed driving conditions.

Cheers.

Go up hilly area sure consume more fuel. Generally, there are tons of factors which contribute to fuel consumption reading. Fabian stated the component related factors. Road condition and driving style also contribute to the difference.

Just my humble opinion.

my 325 averages 7km/l on Ron97, 70% highway and 30% city w heavy ass breyton race gt 19's.
but my fc has improved after i changed to light weight rims, now i get 7.xkm/l, did u recently changes anything tt may affect your FC?

Check if you are really reading it as km/L or L/100km?

FC report is best reported along with average speed.. My N46B20 recorded 11.4L/100km @ 33.7kph.

its good. I checked again its 7.7l/100km or 12.8KM/l. Did a test drive for the last 3 days. same route and used auto cruise of 100km/h to set the brncmark. Frm setia alam to downtown KL approx 40km it showed the nos above. I think i have to live with it...moral of the story want low fc, buy saga. no offence...

Hehe.. Go Hybrid! And do not exceed 60kph, u'll be in good shape! :48:

Buy new F30 328, better FC.
or F30 diesel is best, hoping for 335d!!!!

Mine is 9.4 L / 100 km. E90 320i. too much city driving, it will go up to 9.8. One run to outstation, it will drop back to 9.4 L / 100 km

You guys should post avg speed as well, as with that figure I can tell whether u r mix driving, highway drive or city drive, my 325 lci gives me 6.3km/l from obc reading. Full tank can only do around 360-380km. My avg speed is 27-30Km/h. Full Ipoh city drive. Normally if I drive around in kl. Average speed will raise bcoz of expressway. Avg speed 36 can get me around 8km/l. Is it normal?
