One SA told me that it's because the rubber seal around the doors hardened after being exposed under the sun for a long time while in the storage yard. Either replace the seal or use 3M tapes will do.

What does it mean by 3M or 3G tape? Where do I need to apply it? Is is on the door frame?

I just put a leather conditioner alternately with silicon spray, something like a WD40 but for rubber. As for leather conditioner, i assume that it will not harm the rubber as it gentle and mild enough for the leather seat.:)

I have been applying leather conditioner on my E46 for the past 2.5yrs. No sound and it last! Rubber also seems ok!

Which part do you apply it bro?

I seldom open my other doors, not even during car wash.. I guess that's the secret of longevity.. Despite almost 5 years old, all my door seals still have the powdery appearance like a new car in the showroom.. LOL!! :4:

All rubber door seals come with a powdery protection coating, most car wash will wipe these seals and through time, the rubber is exposed and when chassis flex occur during travelling on uneven road, these rubber rub against painted surface of the door, thus creating a noise like someone is rubbing on balloon.. very irritating.

Astroboy ... Your explanation is all bluff one. You just find excuses to climb out of the window like a NASCAR driver only. Terrible la you. :0)

Wah I thought the squeeky issue is only on E60. I never have this issue on my E90 or E60. May I know those got this issue is CKD, SKD or CBU?

Drove a 320i SKD courtesy car from AB Glenmarie, 5k on the clock, ZERO squeaks. It's about QC issues at factory la. Maybe the material used for the rubber seal? It's a small matter to rectify but it's not properly looked into I guess.

Mine is an old junk year 2005 no squeaks at all. To be frank after BMW factory visit in Kulim, I will never buy CKD or SKD BMW.

BMW Malaysia DOES NOT give a shit. They do know about this problem being prevalent. Who really cares. Only want our money la. After the tape cure my car is almost squeek free, there are some now and then so I will probably use some rubber conditioner too. Wonder what will happen when they take my car in, for the THIRD time, to resolve the whine that comes from the final drive. Imagine the big guy at AB Glenmarie telling me that it's ok one, it's normal. LOL!

Sent my car in for some warranty claim at AB Glenmarie. Problem fixed but rear bumper with few new scratches. Haiz...
