No wor. Skimming is not in the BMW service bulletin, so they can't and don't know how to do. Toyota will skim for u during warranty period. If after warranty, they say they don't skim.

Well C&C doesn't know how to skim either and when our brand new W211 had scored rear discs because of the stuck handbrake, they said they would send it outside to skim.

I said no f-ing way!

In April, engine oil change. Should wait for 10k km.
If i bring in now..its less than 5k

in april, the front brake pads ok. however rishi did notice its wearing away n needs changing. that why he suggested in june, to bring in the car for engine oil, front brake pads n a new arm skin change.

Yey! got my rear pad under BSRI liao.. hissing sound seems gone. :top: Next week awaiting feedback from my sensitive ear missy.. keeping finger crossed.. :D

I asked the SA how come no need to replace fluid le? He said should have, every 1 half year. And so I get him to check on his record, found out the job were carried out during my first BSRI oil change service at 23k km.. Never tell also... been thinking how come Schwepps get more than me.. :p :D

Schwepps seemed to be able to get more than all of us.... maybe he more leng-chai than us..... :p

Leng chai not enough, must have the talent to talk until birds flying down from the trees.. :D

Update:

Missy confirm hissing sound from the brake is gone. As I have suspected, it must have come for the 2 brake pad stud embedded into the pad. When the pad is too thin, the stud will reveal and rub against the rotor. The stud is a harder object than the pad compound.

SC just called to check how's my car.. told them very satisfied! :top:

Good for you AB! Actually, I found out that they changed my brake pads too when they changed the brake fluid in my last BSRI at 29k. They forgot to tell me about it. BSRI is more than just an oil change, huh? :top:

Don't understand why they don't tell ppl what they did.. :stupid: I am not surprise if I walk up to them and tell them my cabin filter and wiper blade never get replaced and they will tell me they did..

Hallo! You must ask mah! Otherwise they'll treat you like the 99% of ppl who don't care what they did, so long as their car is clean, can start, and go. :)

.. my fav line "do whatever it takes to give me a peace of mind...u dont want bmw image to tarnish right......

Is it worth taking the risk though? The pads are free under BSRI, and they might change your brake fluid too, as they've already changed mine. The discs are not covered under BSRI, I don't think. Once you score them, you'll have the dreaded singing brakes. :40:

I just changed my disc as Quill Auto told me it's covered under BSRI...

As my rear brake pad counter is about 6000km more to go, I have discussed with some SA (subtlely) about changing the discs together with the pads. Cos if I change the pads and later if I do get the singing brakes, it will be hard to claim for BSRI on the discs versus if I claim both together at the same time.

Some tips for everyone who still have BSRI.
