Hi Guys,
my radiator bottom left corner is leaking coolant, need to top up approx. 300-500ml of water every 2-3 days,
a costs of a new radiator is RM1k++, any alternatives?
if send for repair how much would it costs?

thanks.

an alternative to replace radiator
1. new OEM from BA costs RM640
2. used original radiator from another 06 model scrap car RM300

which is better?

would not suggest to repair the radiator. yes it solves the issue in the short term, but over time, the welding, or the repaired part, might weaken and expose another risk. same goes to the used radiator, as u wouldnt know the mileage it has gone thru, and if there are issues/clogs in them. for used, its just a matter of time before u need to change it again.

A new one, be it original or OEM, at least gives u piece of mind. OEM would work just fine, and perhaps u shld take it as part of ur preventive maintenance program.

New is better. Go for the OEM. Do not buy second hand radiator.

thanks for the advice, anyway went to look at the used radiator last night & there was a crack at the outlet hose on the bottom,
but it came with together with the fan & condenser at RM150, instead of RM300.
so I took it to keep the fan as spare.

still searching around for a new radiator, anyone can recommend if able to find cheaper than BA?

I had a similar problem. Did mine in BlueGreen last month. OEM (Nissens) + labour = RM950.00.

Bought OEM brand new at Sun Eng Hup Auto 2 yrs back, cost around RM 450, u can try check it there, recommend u to replace the connecting hoses as well as it got brittle over time
