The rubber on the rear window seal has perished and has started to peel away from the metal backing item. I looked on the internet and this would appear to be a common issue.

Has anyone here had the same thing happen? If so did you replace the rubber surround? Any recommendations for place to replace and idea for costs? Is the rear window bonded in and this item is a dress item rather than a weather seal?

Many thanks

Moots, I will do another search as I did not find the answers I was looking for in the previous threads on this subject.

Many thanks for your guidance.

Thanks Jakpo,

It was well hidden. Many thanks once again. Now just have to figure out how to remove the rear window spoiler :102:

i was advised to get a windshield insurance by the workshop before they replace the seal as he said there's risk of glass breaking. Whaddaya guys think?

he he....wat a load of crap...i replaced mine diy and many others as well from the mat salleh forums and i have not come across a rear window breaking due to this.

just a word of caution....never bring a screwdriver to pry or lever the seal off.you can use scraper and YOUR FINGERS....gud lak

I did mine after buying the windscreen cover from BA Subang Jaya.
Old one can be pulled off easily.
Just use some leather and vinyl cleaner as lubricant.
Use some 3M scrub pad to clean the edge before install.
30 minutes level kindergarten job.
