Just wondering, will there be any effect if I use Taiwan's kit compare to original kit? I'm planning to get new bodykit, but wondering should I just get the Taiwan made or go for original? I don't really care about the aerodynamic, just want my car to look cool . but I also don't want the body kit to affect my car i.e. make it heavy or something. any advice?

It's the same except Taiwan kits might not fit so well in some areas (gaps) and if the workmanship/material is bad then the paint shop guy will have extra work to do. Honestly I would go for Taiwan than original because all these body kit will break if there's a strong impact so paying so much more for original doesn't justify. If the price difference is not much then it can be considered.

As aoch88 says, Taiwan kit will have some small gaps, my front lip had at the most a 0.5 mm gap at certain curvy bits. Original is super nice but they cost about 3-4 times more. I chose Taiwan because of our road condition. I started out wanting a front lip to protect my original bumper. Easy to sacrifice the Taiwan stuff la. With a good shop they can make a Taiwan kit well fitted. My 3D Design Taiwan front lip was too long. After fitting you can see a 1/4" gap on one end. Somehow they 'removed' it. It was nice.

thanks for the info. I have to admit I'm more inclined on getting the Taiwan's, as the original will let me eat pasir for the whole year! :p.

anyway, mind recommend me any shops that has good workmanship? I'm staying at Pandan Indah.

P/s: how about Taiwan's rim? any good?

The problem with Taiwan rim is that it costs a lot when you buy new (RM3K+ for 19") but when you sell, they offer stupid prices (50% loss). If you buy original, you can sell for a higher value and you don't lose so much.

If possible, always go for original rims as we may not want to compromise on our safety.

thanks for the info guys.

so, which body kit would looks good? hehe. i know looks are subjective, as everyone's preferences are different. just want to know what members here think.

any good place to recommend for me to do some shopping?

With my E90, I wanted simple. So did a rojak set up. Some nice kits had certain parts that were too garang ... best place to start will be Sunway la ... where else? :)

Go to the Showroom section la ... its simple and sweet. :) If car not M3, dun wanna make it look like one la. Hehehehee ...

Showroom so messy la bro, have to go through one by one to find E60. maybe mods can make it more organised and easier to search i.e have tag 'E60', 'E90'..etc. in the title (or maybe there is already such search function, but I'm just too noob T_T ).

High chance that I might go 'rojak' too. haha

Here is a rojak set up ... AC roof spoiler, 3D Design front and sides, Hamann rear

go for Lumma bodykit bro..one of the best looking kits for e60 in my opinion..

try GC Motorsport in Sunway..look for Ah Dee..good quality PU materials and fits very nicely for a replica set...my advice, look for experienced shops which are well versed with BMWs..they know their way round your ride e.g where the clips are, dismantles the stock bumpers n skirts properly, takes care of your reverse sensors, fits your new kit seamlessly..

To be honest, all these kits comes from the same mother (manufacturer). There's no such thing as GC Motorsport ones fit nicely and others do not but it's a matter of how the make it fit nicely :) If your car is with stock reverse sensor, it's very easy to remove because once the bumper is out, just pull out the socket will do. If your car is on after market retrofit sensors then there will be more wires and that is when it becomes tough and messy. I bought my 3D design quad rear diffuser from Redzone Sunway and it doesn't fit 100% as well. There are gaps and they bloody use screws instead of clips to fit the inner part so like I said, Taiwan made body kit parts are all the same :d

Lucky I canned my diffuser and quad pipes set up! Will go with the BMW performance diffuser I guess.

There's quad diffuser from BMW Performance? I can't seem to find it for the E60 so end up buying 3D Design ciplak ones, haha
