hi e60 community i've been reading about center resonator delete/removal on e60.net and finally decided to go ahead with the mod today. result is what i hoped for:1. louder and would say nicer exhaust note at mid-high rpm2. everything same as stock during idling3. more flow & power at high rpm4. very slightly less fuel economy (unconfirmed yet cause i been revvin since i got the car)5. did not notice any loss in low-mid range powerhope this would help in your decision making...just do it! btw the job was done at torque gear at sunway @ RM300.00 and well worth the moneyi've posted before / after photos and a video for you guys to have a better idea:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4UoAFRI_Fo

bmw7833...he remove the resonator so not putting any in...just connecting pipe nia...

I also removed the resonator three years ago since i collect my car, but i saw the mark on the connecting pipe which showing a brand there..But recently my mechanic said we can't just remove the resonator then replace with 'chop palang' pipe.

wow...i didn't know there are branded pipes...i know most of our stainless steel pipes are made by a company called hoto steel but they dont stamp their brand on the pipes...

You have the branded race version from the europe tuner which is a better option I think.

point #4 confirmed...slightly higher FC after removal of center resonator. it does not bother me now coz its a pleasure listening to the sound...

I'm curious why the FC would be slightly higher? could it be caused by less torque at lower rpm bands hence the need to stamp harder on the throttle?

the resonator remove also corrected my AFR which was previously too rich (assume from the blackened tailpipes). there are now less carbon deposits and the car is more powerful...

have you dyno'ed your car ess530i? whats the bhp figures?

I'm also curious if your auto tranny is able to take all the torque?

I got mine delete at JFA today and it cost me RM120.
I keep the resonator just incase i need to reverse it back
I'm on 320i (E90) with remus power sound it really sick...nice
recon loss in low torque but improve in high end power...
going to chip the car this weekend to get back the lower end power.
not sure on FC, i presumed gonna be low FC due to running at low rev all to time ..(cannot handle the noise yet...mcm turbo lah)
dude at AB Sg besi gave a good compliment just now..

i'll post the video when i free.

hi kanos RM120 is really cheap...how was the workmanship? what kind of material they use and did they also put in a Y pipe like mine? i paid RM330 (not 300 as stated earlier) for the stainless steel & Y pipe. i thought e90=e60 both also normally kena 'potong' one hehe. anyway u gotta wait for 1 - 2 days for your DME to adapt to the mod then u'll see wat the real effect is on the sound, performance & FC...

Mine its just a straight pipe and urs is Y thats why
the w/manship was fine. The job was pretty much straight forward.
potong the resonator and replace them with 2" straight pipe about a foot long.

Kanos.

Who are you using to rechip?

Anyone out there with experience on rechipping a 525 e60?

Who have a good condition E46 resonator for sale? i need one for my 325i, pm me ya thanks:)

Put straight pipes bro bunyi lagi garang ...

Hi,

Would love to but not willing to part rm300 just for the y piping:) besides, torque will be lost which we always need in KL town, so abit worrying loss for me.

Will update you guys whether i go for resonator or y piping:) or any experienced sifu would like to comment?
