dear sifusi'm currently using style 124 18" staggered rims (front 8.0" & rear 9.0") on my e60 with 245/40/18 tires at the front and 275/35/18 tires at the rear. question:can i use 245/40/18 tires at the rear using the same 9.0" rims?275/35/18's are too expensive, difficult to find and they wear out quickly. my current CSC2's only last 6 months and they're about 1.5k a piece. thinkin of goin for Michelin PS2's all-round 245/40/18. thanks...

with the torque of ur 530 plus the ESS Supercharger, i think not advisable since u need that extra traction to put down all that power...IMHO u will oversteer easily while powering thru a corner...

u can but it will stretch d tyre's and have a shorter side wall which incidentally is all d rage right now in europe tuning scene especially VW's ... d downside u run d risk of damaging your wheel, cornering stability (stretching may weaken d sidewall) and etc ...

thanks for the advice guys... guess i need to fork out Rm5k to buy tires soon. rm5k/6months = rm833/month or rm28/day just on tires alone damn i better start to take it easy on the pedals :(

hehee..the downside of having all that supercharged torque at the twitch of ur foot.plus cuz its a twinscrew, the wave of torque is just relentless i guess.

u shud stick to the 275s... maybe u shud get another car,a cheap runabout to relieve ur use of the MONSTER:wink:

thanks for the input guys...i ended up with michelin ps2's front 245/40/18 (stock size) and rear 265/35/18. the michelin 265/35/18's appeared wider and definitely had more surface contact area than my previous csc2 275/35/18. also the ps2's are noticeably lighter (when carried & when driving) than csc2 and quieter too.

back to the topic i think there is no problem to use 265/35/18 for the rear wheels (style 124 - 9.0"). although the circumference is smaller by 1 - 2% compared with the 275's, it is not noticeable in term of looks. grip wise i'm confident it will be at least as good as the 275 csc2 but have yet to try them out as i need to run-in the tires. will keep u guys updated on the performance...

in case anyone wondered why i choosed the 265's its because they are rm100/pc cheaper than the 275's, it was in stock & fresh (3008), it had same surface contact area as 275 csc2's & i felt the 275's were too large & heavy

supergripen...i now have a honda city to drive around now that my bro is in the US, though sometimes i wish the city was a golf gti or somethin like that...nevertheless the city is CHEAP, i could never remember the last time i refueled the car, or changed the tires, or even the last time it was being repaired :)

glad to hear that..at least the City will relieve ur MONSTER in everyday driving.

true tho..i too sometimes wish my Jazz was a MCS ur sumthin'..at the very least a Polo GTi la.shucks..

same experience here... now that the petrol has dropped to RM1.80 per litre... it only cost me about 10 cents/km... a figure that can only be dreamt of when driving a BMW :D
the only downside is that it lacks the omph power of BMW
