E46 Gear Box Oil-Esso or RedLine

E46 original gear oil is Esso LT71141 Multi Vichecle Syn-ATFSAnybody try others brand of Gear oil eg:Redline,Motul...Pls advise?

its advisable to use recommended ESSO, u have to take risk to use other brands. however, according to a pool in e46fanatics, redline ATF users encounter no problem with their gearbox, it even solve some hard shifting and pinking noise for the gearbox. this matter is very subjective to discuss and has been debated for a long time in many forum

Anyway, both the ZF and the GM made gearbox uses different ATF? right or wrong?

yes bro, to be safe, pls use their respective oil....i had some bad experience pouring ZF fluid into my GM transmission. But, there are also people that put ZF oil in their GM transsmision and nothing bad happen. so its ur choice...
