Ok Coolant warning (no:3) fixed.... I found out that the dip stick was a lil stuck (maybe cause never checked for a couple of months and... bought drinking water to filled up and shake the red dipstick a bit... so a small "pop" and its AFLOAT! LOL

Anyways still have the others tho... really need advice...

Thx to all Sifus :)

In BMW's ASC is always on. So when you press the ASC button, you are switching it off. That's why the car's a little out of control, but it should not be by much because the car has 50:50 weight distribution. What absorbers are you running on?

Anyway, when switching off ASC, the light will come on to tell you it's switched off.

By the way did you do a diagnostic on the car when you bought it? Please tell us whether its a pre-facelift or facelift model so we can help you more.

Salut

Owner from KK here...

First Off, Would like to ask the best place to Service my Beemer in KK area (Inanam the best, near my office)

Secondly... i have 3 warning sign that im a bit worried...

No.1 Battery (Red) --->>> The previous owner installed a NS battery i think to play ICE... so isit related or really the alternator kong ody???

No.2 Airbag Sign (red)... ive hear that the ABS maybe loose or faulty....

N0.3 This one just pop up... after some reasearch its the radiator symbol (yellow square with water bottle look) It comes and go ... SOLVED

There is 2 other red sign...

Light Symbol infront of car... and the back 2... I figure its about my HID and my new White LED plate bulb....

ASC (Automatic Stability Control) is BMW's traction control system. Unlike DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), ASC does not correct vehicle yaw and therefore cannot compensate for oversteer/understeer. If the ASC light with exclamation is on permanently after pressing the ASC button on the dash, this means you've disengaged the ASC system.

As for the light symbol warning lights - your car needs to be reprogrammed to recognize HID lamps. Halogens consume 55w per bulb, whereas most HID bulbs use 35w only. The difference in power consumption is interpreted by the car's computers as a blown bulb - so it throws a fused bulb warning instead.

im not sure on the pre facelift / facelift... its written in the JPJ card

BMW 302i (typo?)
Recon-Japan imported

But when i check its suppose to be:

320i E46 Auto Japan Auto Spec
manuf : 2001

fgr_e46_4d_phase1_black2.jpg

It has a special lips at the front bumper (pre-facelift?) but japan spec have this 2 lips hangar (metal brace to the front bumper lips)
-Carbon Fibre Interior trims
- 2.0 6 Cylinder Engine
- Factory Lowered (so not sure what spring im using)

**** Not "that" out of control... just a little more power and handling is somewhat softer...
Normally the stearing feel like its self adjusting...(steering yaw-ing??)

I bought it recently (a couple of months ago)... it was sent for diagnostic with errors on HID, Battery(previous owner changed battery for ICE)---> So the Lady was pregnant i was told... maybe not??

I heard that Recon car will be costing more when sent to AB center...

Can i just go to any big workshop with Computer based technician to reset everything???

Also my Service reminder (the beep and number in the status screen in the meter console) is -60K+++

But my mileage is only 58 K++???

Please advice what i should do next?

Also it may be too late to regret but i bought it @ RM 73K (market around 80-90++) so i may overlook some defects i guess... But AT is great S/MT is working perfet... response it very2 good (compared to the other second hand car) No damage to internal frames (no major accident) PUSPAKOM approved... just a few chips and scratch from front bumper (car is a lil higher than 1 coke tin)

Whats "EML" stands for? it flas for a while when i turn key to position 1?

Solved all proble...

Red Battery = To hange regulator to higher amp...

Air Bag = Passenger Seat sensor (phew saved a few K on stupid advice from bavaria to change airbags and system)

Red HID fixed by coding back in the system...

The answer from google is : DSC is a newer version of ASC traction control. Basically ASC only brakes the rear wheels during straight line acceleration to keep the wheels from spinning and losing traction. DSC combines those features with additional ability to individual brake each of the 4 wheels is slippage (oversteer/understeer) is sensed in a corner to bring you back in line. There are a couple of demo Flash programs on bmwusa.com. I posted the links below, but if they don't work, go to bmwusa.com, highlight 3 at the top, then 3 technology.

Hi I have E46 318, lately my coolant appear/disapppear intermittently even though the coolant has filled up. Also my rear lights also showing red warning too some disappear some show up. ;( pls advice

coolant?
last time mine appear and then disappear.. had to fill up water every 3 to 4 days... so went to check and verdict..
change radiator and expansion tank... it had a hairline crack... so better to be safe than sorry... and i think problem free for at least 3 years. :D

rear lights? maybe your bulb something wrong.... that one i dont know...

My experience... the Bulb is already due for change...

I just change all the Brake light bulbs cause after the mechanic open and show me, the bulb all ody loose from their metal base... some even dangling from their inside wire... so changed all that (cost lest than RM 30)

My Plate number Light i change to white color so the light is on and off cause using LED :) not recognized by the BMW E46 system...

Headlight changed to HID for both Flood and Head light also needto send to Coding in any workshop with BMW Computerized OBC (orange head)

Radiator come on and off for me too cause i think i drive like F1 Driver... so top up the water... also maybe some crack... but i dont think its very serious cause its been weeks since the water reduce (maybe the car learn my crazy way of driving)
\
Other than that i dont think anything is major in your case :)
