Hi Sifu would like to get your opinion on my ride. Recently I noticed that the engine sound is really rough and got the click click sound coming out ...can you guys advice what to check and maybe what is the cause if you had encounter this. I also detected some water coming in from the driver side windscreen airback if in heavy rain.

did u notice the sound after u service your car, if yes, r u changing to a different viscosity of oil?

Hi mouse what is the correct viscosity for E46 318i 2.0 after service everything ok. But after a while let say after almost 2 weeks this noise came out. Did I need to change my spark plug also. If yes I will change my oil this week + the spark plug. Plan to use irridium.

stick back to your previous oil viscosity on the next oil change and see if the sound dissapear. how long have u been using the old plug? ask the mechanic to remove the plug and inspect if it need replacement, its relatively easy to see from the carbon buildup aroud the plug. but generally a platinum or irridium plug can last at around 30,000-60,000KM. regarding the correct viscosity for your ride, its very subjective because different mechanic have their own theory on what grade to use, some used 15w-50, some 5w-30, some 5w-40, some even 0w claming that the car run faster because its light. if u wanna play safe, use 10w-40, but there is only limited fully synthetic with that grade and its expensive such as redline, motul 300v chrono, royal purple.
