E39 Panel light

I'm a newbee and need help.Mine is a 520i 2.2 Below the AUDIO button ie Clock and the letter BC, what is that? It's lighted in red even after the engine is switched off. How do you get rid of it?Gear lever at P position is also lighted after engine is swithed off. Is that normal?Thanks

Not sure about the BC button. The only thing thats stays lit in mine is the P.
