E39 M52 engine blown ! anybody has 2.8 single vanos block ?

My 1998 523 engine gone i think. i was driving at 160kmh when i felt engine straining. Immediately i stopped and checked. to my horror there is no engine oil in it !! no warning also.. i topped bout 4 litres and drove to my workshop. The mechanic said.. i gotta replace alot of engine parts inside. the easier solution will be throw in at m52b28 block in it. Any suggestion ppl ? i am really screwed this time..
 
got... call ah wai - 0162206687... he has 3 engines, 1 M54B30, 2 M52B28 lying in the store...

arrangement for shipment, you better ask him..

Pussy.. thanks man. I called him.. he quoted 3k+. I not sure bout market . i hv to wait till my mechanic open up my engine...

bro... pm me ur best price.. u changing wat engine ? our car let say wanna plonk in m54b28 or b30 need to change ecu..n more stuff is it ? anybody done that b4 ?

That's the question mark i need to clear..i switch to 1800 cc..:stupid: save petro and roadtax. :listen:

It's either M54B20, M54B25 or M54 B30. Don't have M54B28. :)
 
so bro.. wat we need to convert m52b25 to m52b28tu or m54b30 ? harness, ecu, new radiator ?

Don't go to 1800 you don't save you use more body heavy. 525i to 530i yes you safe fuel mileage better. For M52B25 to M52B28 no need to change ECU can remap but Torque convertor must change gear ratio will be different advisable to also change to 528 final drive as it is bigger gear box can use back same gear box. . M52 to M54 need to change wiring and ECU.

M54B25 to M54B30 engine no need to change anything only remap the ecu to 530. Just make sure you get the manifold with trottle body, Injectors and MAF sensor with the air flow box and rubbers hoses as they are bigger. With the the 525 gearbox the pick up is very very awesome gear ratio different but top sikit down la. the next thing is the final drive 530 will give you top speed. 525 will not give you the top speed. thats the only set back.
 
I just upgraded to my engine From 525 to 530.....the mileage is better I am using my original ECU which is remapped to 530 software and functions...
 
How about if m52b25 to m52b28 or m54b30?

It is easier for m52b25 change to m52 series engine instead of m54 enigine?
 
Yes bro. M52 to M52 easier..for remapping. M52B25 ECU can also use the M54B25 ECU programs If M52 engine to M54 engine wirring must change. All M52 engines are the same like wise M54s. capacity, weight and size are different internally and some external parts. you don't need to change the radiator and all that mumbo jumbo. what ever that is attached to the engine..for better performance and result.

You can use the M52B28 engine kosong with all the M52B25 stuff like manifold injectors, etc etc etc.. you will get a slightly higher torque but you will not get the Real M52B28 Kick.
 
What if up from M54B22 to M54B30? Can I still use back my gearbox, torque convertor, rear axle, long shaft, exhaust...etc?

my fren's 525i (m54b25) has better mileage than my 520i, so i figure the m54b30 shud be optimum.
