Dear 5ers,I am looking to change my current ori M-sport rim (E39 2002)Front 17" - Tyre 235/45/17Rear 17" - Tyre 255/40/17to the new M-sport rim #135 with both 18" - Tyre 245/40/18.I found out that the new rim middle part to attach to the wheel frame is smaller which the dealer said they can trim about 1mm to fit in. Please share if any of the sifus 5ers had experience this and whether is it safe to do so and will it have any effect later. Another thing is whether the new set of tyre and rim would have any impact after changing to different size of rim and tyres. Appreciate your sharing.Cheers,Sam

I am looking to change my current ori M-sport rim (E39 2002)

Front 17" - Tyre 235/45/17
Rear 17" - Tyre 255/40/17

to the new M-sport rim #135 with both 18" - Tyre 245/40/18.

I found out that the new rim middle part to attach to the wheel frame is smaller which the dealer said they can trim about 1mm to fit in. Dear 5ers,

Please could anyone hand some advise on this.

Cheers,
Sam

bro,

if your new rim is not designed specifically for the e39 then it wont fit because the e39 has a bigger center bore.

i personally wont go that route.

cheers

Bro,

forget about that rim, you can easily get the rim which fit e39, melambak kat market ..... bersepah-sepah.
Unless it is a rare species, ada duit barang susah nak beli ..... then a bit of modification maybe acceptable.

I think the rims you mentioned is meant for e46.
