E36 Chasis No different side - need help

Hi All,Sad but need to part with my e36. Can anyone advise or been thru this ? I bought the car from a second dealer 4/5 years ago from a dealer in KL & during tat time car no need inspection by puspakom and to go straight to the point, i sold my car now but failed puspakom test as the chasis number is correct but at the wrong side. According to the dealer i bought from last, it is common with auto bavaria punching the chasis no at wrong side & redo again. No i need to get a letter from auto bavaria to certify this. This car (based on reg card) is from auto bavaria sg. besi and i have been asked to wait for > 3 weeks now as they said the letter need to get from manufacturing plant..god knows when i can get the letter and stil no new....i m worried how long i need to wait and my new buyer may change his mind...Any 1 can advise how to go about this.Thanks for the input

Hi all, once again received feedback from my dealer who sold me the cars few years back claiming that the plant would not be able to give the letter required to certify the chasis number has been changed location of stamp. According to the dealer (from imbi) that the files are gone .....I do really hope auto bavaria or bmw malaysia people are reading this.
Can you imagine, (claimed by my dealer..the files are no longer available). are they implying that i m stuck with the car and i do believe there are many others also facing similiar issues but are not aware about this. i will bring this personally to auto bavaria and see what are their feedback and i will also request my lawyer to issue an official letter of request to them, should i not able to get the letter of certifications.

I have dropped a mail to the branch manager of auto bavaria sg. besi and also dropped a call to their cust service about this matter. No reply from them yet. I will keep you guys posted ..so that in future you guys won't faced the problems i am having now..

Do hope bmw malaysia and auto bavaria treat their existing customers with urgency and aware of such problems.

I dun like the previous dealer. They are big time crook. I personally went to AMI (the manufacturer) and according to them they have disperse the letter out to Auto Bavaria and AB has passed it them and handed to the dealer. When i approached him and told him i will b getting a lawyer to deal with AB, he then mentioned he may be able to get the letter. Finally got the letter, and now he claims need coffee money to cover ppl (so called AB ppl wants it) to get the letter. I sure pity AB reputation being screw this way by this ppl. So you guys know what kind of ppl ' ethics in selling this type of car...jatuh standard saja. claimed to be many years in business...Screw up ethics for the sake of making $$$$$

sorry to hear that you had been given the run around ... 6 weeks to have that cleared some more need to grease some palms !! it was their error in the 1st place !

btw , can you share where is the correct location ? need to check mine as mine did NOT go tru puspakom too ....

The chasis number is on the driver side. But mine was punch with the following "XXXXXX" and re punch again on the passenger side. All this are located the wiper,in the engine bay.

For your info, this problem was created by the previous dealer who sold me the car, not AB nor the manufacturer (AMI). The joker(previous dealer) kept on telling me ..can't get the letter and all crap stories.....just let me know if you need any help as i now have the direct contact number to ami to get all this letter out.

yes , I remember seeing that ..looks like mine is ok & good to that know AB & AMI are clean
