need all the experts here for your advice...i am based in glenmarie, and wondering is there any good and reliable workshop around for some servicing work on my e36 328'96.no point send it back to AB since it's such an old car...is there anyone here using eibach shock absorbers for e36?any good recommendation for a moderate setup...sporty with some comfort...thank you very much for your advice and help...

There's a workshop at USJ closeby to Taipan. If from Summit (Summit on the left), just go straight and pass the USJ mosque. After the mosque, turn right at the traffic light and go straight. You will see houses on the left. After the houses, you'll see a school on your left. Turn left at the school and go straight. You will pass a Caltex and after that you will see Stadium curry house. The workshop is just next to the restaurant.

About the shocks, I'm not sure about Eibach but if Koni, my setting is 200deg turn clockwise from the maximum.

ill recommend to take a short drive to senawang. eventhough its far from where you stay, you will feel satisfied with the service and price...

Hi-Tech Wheels at Senawang Light Industrial.

06-6779160 or 019-6219122

ask for Sam the conti specialist...

mention my name Pratheep and you will be entitled for special discount.

cheers...

I also go to to BM Tech Auto at USJ 10/2 sometimes, cos I work near there.
His Name is Ah Poh
However, my main service is usually with ChuSeng Motors, Penang...

Hope that was some help.

Cheers

Not trying to steal a thread but the above recomended shop in Senawang is questionable. I am from Seremban by the way.

While he did a reasonable job on my 328 he and his grease monkeys mucked up my dads C200 and my uncles 318. Main gripe is his inablity to diagnose problems in a methodical manner, just listens to the owners problem and them makes an assuption of the problem without 'really' checking the problem out for himself. Mechanical competency is also in question, he fixed the gearbox mountings the wrong way. His grease monkeys over torqued the nuts until there was no more thread.

And when they broke the engine cover clips in my dad's C200, they kept quiet and pretended nothing happened On the way home, the cover came loose and came into contact (you can imagine the loud ruckus from the engine compartment) with the radiator fan. It was only replaced after some heavy handed negotiation.

Jason,

They come highly recomended by some of the forumers here. Personally I have not tried them. Me also from S'ban but already living in JB...besides Senawang is there any reliable or good BMW mech in S'ban or need to go to KL.

From wat u described looks like I'm going to give them a pass unless no choice.

I do my car sometimes in Senawang... When I say do, I mean I'll get my hands dirty as well.... have to agree that the workers there needs better training.... but with my supervision and involvement, they are ok... They have oso learned a few tricks from me too....

Ha ha ha bro that's a good one.... an experince that you're able to share it here ... :D

I think fabian has raised a very good point. Always try to do your research beforehand. If necessary, get stuck in or at least observe what / how they are doing. Even if you are not the type to get your hands dirty (like me!), get a workshop manual. Trust me, its well worth it.

Never commit to doing expensive work (labour and / or parts) if you do not feel 100% comfortable. Sometimes, the pricier places are worth it for second opinions. There's lots of other mechs out there.
